Jamilla was very sound and strong, with a tall front and incredible back. With 1st, 2nd and 7th placings at National Shows to her credit, she was also a strong brood doe through the years. Her daughter, Bathsheba was 8th-place yearling at the 2005 Nationals and daughter, Jazeez was 1st with 1st udder at the 2006 Nationals, and earned bother her SGCH and LA EX91 by the time she was two. Her son, Shalome Al-Akkom has GCH, EX91 daughter with a 1st/1st udder National placing and her daughter Eyesha, produced another SGCH daughter who was scored EX92 has a three year old. Her, son Hilkiah has two milking yearling daughters in the herd who both LAed at VG88. In her own right, Jamilla LAed at EX93-EEEE and was twice Res. All American.

Jazeez is so very pretty and so very eye catching.  She pleased us tremendously by placing 1st/1st Uddered Milking Yearling at the 2006 National Show, thus following in her dam's hoof prints. She has an LA score of 2-03 EX-91-EEEE and finished her GCH at age two.  Jazeez began 2008 by being named INBA All American Two Year Old. After fighting and winning a battle with mastitis in 2007, she had a wonderful set of quads in 2008, but was milking so much we were not able to get her body condiiton back prior to Nationals.  Then once more she disappointed our National hopes by going dry in 2009. In 2010, she was injured shortly before kidding and lost a tremendous amount of weight.  She seems to be slowly recovering.

This is an exquisite correctly-structured doe, who combines general appearance with dairy character.  Her udder is lovely - with balance from the side and height with width from the rear- and so well attached, with teats approaching perfect size, shape and placement.

Her daughter Vintage Sirrah ("Vinny") as LAed at EX91(EEEE) at age two and is a SGCH. In 2010 we were ecstatic at being able to add another daughter from a mating to her maternal brother Hilkah, Jamissiah, who LAed with VG88 as a yearling, and who's been 1st each time shown, and GCH twice.

Jazeez had be be destroyed early in 2013.

We were thrilled to finish Hattal last summer as a two-year-old, and to get the Excellent on her mammary during LA.  It was also nice to have her place 10th at the National Show, dispite being such a "pill" in the ring that day!
Hattal is a very smooth and blended doe with a strong back.  She is so dairy and sharp, and brings an oh-so-correct udder as well.  Because her mammary is so soft-textured, people are often surprised by how wide and high it is the first time they see her uddered.
     She is bred to Shiraz.

We were so glad to have been able to settle Farajah to Gandolph this past fall and so add two new daughters to our herd!  He still does great work, even from the "tank"!

Gandolph came back to us the last two and a half years of his life.  We'd sold him as a kid, but were delighted to have this last son of our great doe Albedo, to use.  We weren't disappointed.  We only wish he would have survived longer.  But  we're grateful to have had five daughters, and several sons, and love the long, tall, dairy, elegance that he gave to them.  His daughter Jazeez was 1st with 1st udder 2006 National Show Yearling. Levitica, another daughter, was 1st/2nd uddered four year old at the 2009 National Show.  Pictured here is his daughter, Jazeez.

What is there to say about Albedo. She was the answer to any Nubian breeders prayer - the most important doe we have bred. She was lovely (an EX92, SGCH) earning 5 Res. Ch, 2 Grand Ch and a Best In Show as a yearling and finished at her first two-year-old show. She milked 3,000 lbs and more during four DHIA lactations (peaking at over 19 obs. at their best). She gave us lovely offspring. But best of all there was her loving personality and gentle was, that she passed on to so many of her descendants. We continue to be grateful to have had her and all that she gave us during her 12 years. We wouldn't have been Saada without her.

Irish-Cream Capricorn

Dam: Saada Laurie Jaydo, 2 legs ( )
LA 1-04 VG85()

light brown roan with white spots

Capricorn made a huge contribution to Saada in her too-short life, as she died of a veterinarian-administered treatment at age two, shortly after kidding with triplets, all of which we used in the herd.  They were: her son +B Saada Captain Jamalla and daughters, GCH Saada Lady Jamilla and Saada Al-Dukka (dam to SGCH Saada Sharm-El-Shiek).  Capricorn carried the Irish-Cream herdname of Charlotte's daughter's 4-H herd, but both parents were Saada-bred. We showed her her yearling year as a milker under 4 judges she was twice 2nd to her paternal half sister Giggles O'Shay and twice 1st and once Res. Ch. The daughter she produced that year was sold, but also went on to produce GCH offspring for the Promise Landt herd.

Capricorn was a long, tall doe with wonderful breed character and an udder that verged on perfection: long and smooth fore; tightly attached, high, wide and high in the rear; correct medial and lovely teat size, shape and placement.  A couple of other photos of her can be seen by clicking on the "Read More".

Xanado truly has one of the best Nubian udders we have ever seen. It is high, wide, so well-blended, with a strong medial and correct teat size, shape and placement. Her attachments are amazing and the foreudder stays smooth and tight no matter how much milk she carries. In addition she is long, tall and elegant with such a level rump.  Xanado has twice had 1st-place udder in class at National Shows, as well as placing 1st, 3rd and 4th (had singled and didn't have her usual udder capacity) in her age class.

She has produced a number of  nice offspring, including daughter two-year-old Xena (LA VG-88 as a yearling), and 2011 doeling Grace.  She is very easy-going and has a level lactation curve, which she seems to pass on to her offspring, as well being such a lovely doe.

Obsidian earned her short leg at her first show as a kid. She freshened with an udder to match her lovely general appearance. She is very deep, wide and powerful, but with nice length and such style too. You may click on the" Read More" icon below to see her rear udder photo.

Obsidian was senior Res. Ch twice, as a yearling milker. As a two year old, she was 2008 Nat. Show 4th-place two year old. In 2009, she went to only one show, where she was ReCH to a herdmate and then GCH, BOB and BIS under the next judge! At that year's National Show, not liking Sacramento's heat, she didn't fill her udder, but still managed to place 8th. She has been named as the Res All American Three Year Old (hermate Lavender was the All American winner). Unfortunately we have to wait another year to try and finish her, as she reabsorbed her preganacy for 2010.

For 2011, she was bred to Ishmael, and kidded February 25.  No reservations remain available for Obsidian.

Levitica hasn't been fond of shows and isn't always too subtle about letting everyone know her opinion (unfortunately for whoever is showing her). But what a brood doe she is! Her daughter Lavender is a SGCH, appraised EX92 and has been 3rd and 2nd at National Shows. Pekah was 7th and 5th at National Shows, LAed at EX92 and was also a SGCH. Levitica herself was 5th/3rd Udder at the 2008 Nat. and 1st/2nd Udder at the 2009 Nat. Show, and 8th in 2012. She was also named as an INBA All American in spring of 2010.

Levitica is a very large, long, tall doe with a smooth long fore and wide very capacious rear udder.   Her medial is strong and her teats are plumb. She has great power and spring of rib without sacrificing dairy bone or skin.  There is a rear udder photo and two of her from 2011. (Note: she had been partially milked out when the side view was taken) that shows how sound she really is.
Levitica was 2 X 1st, 1 X 2nd and once Res. CH, twice GCH, once BOB, BDIS and BUIS at 2011 shows.

Lavender earned her first milking leg in 2007 as a yearling! As a second freshener she was scored EX90 with an "E" udder! Since then her score has been elevated to EX92 and she has placed in the top five of three National Shows.

Her rear udder is tremendously wide, with a correct medial and lovely teat size, shape and nice placement, as well. Her foreudder is so tight and blended that people often don't give her credit for how long it actually is, and it never "shelves" even slightly.  Her back is very level and strong and she has great depth of heart and spring of rib. She is a reliable and steady milker, dispite our show travel.

Never yet out of the top 5 at National Shows attended, she has been 3rd, 2nd and 5th.  In 2010, 2012 and 2013 she was named an INBA's All American of her age group for the previous show year. She remained an incredibly sound and correct doe - until near the end of her life.

Lavender produced lovely quads for us this year (we retained a buck and a doe), but had a miserable last month due to the extreme extra weight she carried with the kids and an udder that developed much earlier than usual, than kept her on her feet most of the time as she couldn't breath well or be comfortable lying down. The result was her condition broke down her hips and rear legs.  She never really recovered, and and we were forced to put her down, after several months of trying to help her.

Ishmael, is a tightly knit, smooth-blending buck. His back is very level and he has width between his hocks and an open escutcheon area. We like his short, strong pasterns and correct rear leg angulation. We had sold him as a kid, but were very happy to have been able to bring him back into the herd as a yearling.

His dam, Bathsheba (pictured here), was a full sister to Jazeez (SGCH, EX91, 1st/1st udder at Nationals).  We liked Bathsheba, both for her lovely body as well as for her beautiful udder. She was undefeated in her show classes (except as 4th-place National Show Yearling Milker) until her sale, part way through her second lactation.  Following which, she was not shown again.

Ishmel's sire, Sand-Bur-Kids SC Grizzly, was a Spotlight Sale buck, whose dam was 2005 Res.Nat.Champion/Best Udder, E92-EEEE. All of Ishmael's paternal sisters and maternal sister have National placings of 1st or 2nd as milkers.

Pekah (pronounced Pea-Kah') was from one of our strongest dam lines. She earned her dry leg at her first show as a kid, and then went on the following year to freshen with a balanced, well-attach udder with ideal teat placement and a strong medial.

At the 2008 National she was 8th (despite her "help") and in the 2009 National, moved up to 5th place. She LAed at EX90 as a two-year-old and earned another leg. She was GCH and BOB twice (and once Best Udder in Show!) in 2010, easily finishing her GCH, and her LA score went to E92-EEEE.

We have a son (MacCleary) from an A.I. kidding 2011. In 2012 we retained a King Koal son.

A Jazeez daughter, with her mothers's style and grace "Vinnie" has a lot going for her. She is very long, with a level rump, tall front and correct legs. Her udder is wide and well blended, with nice teat size shape and placement. She is a slower maturing doe, but she has now added the depth and spring of rib she lacked as a younger doe.

She has placed 1st twice and GCH twice (finishing her GCH at the two showings in 2012. Her daughter "Sparkle"ing  Zinfindel, is a finished GCH and LAed at EX92 and has been Nat. 1st/1st Udder, and 3rd/2nd udder.   We have added a second Vinny daughter (3/4 sister to Sparkle) in 2013, who is a very promising yearling milker. We are not sure if  she will be bred for 2015, due to an illness last year. If so, she will be bred to Nox.

Sparkling Zinfindel's nickname is "Sparkle", and she is quite an eye-catcher, with her long-bodied elegance, lovely breed character and unusual coloring. She is more powerful than her dam at the same age, but has the same kind of smooth, stylish build. We have been pleased with her correct teat size and placement, as well as her wide and high rear udder and wide smooth fore.

She  was undefeated in her age classes prior to earning her GCH at age two, and has been 1st/2nd udder at the 2009 and 3rd/2nd at the 2012 National Shows.  At her final 2012 show she was BOB, BDIS and BUIS!  In April of 2013  she was named as an All American, by INBA.

Farajah reminders a lot of her dam as a young doe, with the same kind of bone and style and blending - though with longer legs and sharper withers. We had so wanted to add another Kaziah daughter to the herd . Our other Kaziah daughter, Levitica (SG, EX92, Nat.1st place) has produced two SGCH, LA Excellent daughters for us.

Farajah has showed well in 2012, going first under four judges and was once Res.CH.  We retained her 2011 Bawky-Bird daughter, "Golden Goose" and son "King Koal" and this year we kept both of the doelings from an A.I. to SG ++*B Saada Gandolph Gado. It's probably obvious we like this doe.

Jamissah is a long tall, elegant six-year-old.  She is linebred on Jamilla (SGCH, EX93), as her dam and sire are Jamilla offspring.  We love the Jazeez daughters.  Jamissah's maternal sister, Vintage Sirrah, was a GCH, EX92 with a GCH EX92 daughter!

Like her dam, Jamissah is sharp and dairy and has wonderful feet, legs and a lovely head. She has a pretty and correct udder, that is strongly supported and has lovely teat size, shape and placement, which was reflected in her "E" LA mammary score and Superior Genetics designation by the age 2.

Jamissah has been twice named INBA All-American.  To see her rear udder and additional photos, "click" on her photo or the "read more" icon.  At her 2013 shows she was 4 times first, twice GCH and once BOB.  She finished her GCH and BOB under the first judge for 2014 (and repeated in the next ring as well).  She was shown only once in 2015 and was BOB and BDIS. She was dry in 2016.

We loved Bawky-Bird at first sight and we haven't changed our minds since.  His sire's dam (Vampress) was a large, long doe, as was his dam Swan (pictured here), so - no surprise - he is a very big boy, with a lovely and gentle disposition.  Those does were also heavy milking animals, so - again, no surprise- he throws wonderful dairy skin, flat bone and milk.  His offspring also excell in breed character, both in wonderful ears and elegant noses.

His first daughter to freshen (GCH Saada Sparkling Zinfindel) was Nat. 1st/1st udder as a yearling, finished in 2010 at age two and LAed EX90!  Photos of her may be seen by clicking on the "Read More" icon, as well as another view of his dam.

We added two new daughters in 2011 and both are lovely.  Needless to day, we look forward to seeing them fresh in 2013.

Hilkiah was exactly what we'd hoped for when we used Tree Beard (Gandolph X Vampress) with Jamilla, EX93, SGCH, (pictured to the right).  He combines three of our favorite Saada does in his immediate pedigree.  Both his dam and his maternal sister (and paternal sister to Hilkiah's sire) have placed 1st/1st udder at National Shows.

He, himself, is powerful yet sharp and well-blended.  He has impressive width between the hocks, wonderful feet and legs, a strong back and a tall, correct font end, that shows depth in the heart as well as width and extension to his brisket.

We freshened his first two daughters in 2010.  Both LAed at V88, only one point from the highest possible.  They showed well too, always in the top three (and when not first or second, losing to herdmates).  They show improvement in the rumps, shoulders, briskets, medials and teat placement over their dams and were big growthy yearlings to boot (click on "Read More" to view photos of them). In 2011 we freshened another daughter and she too is a "keeper"!

We remember the three daughters we previously had from this buck with great fondness. He consistently produced tall, tight, smooth fount ends, long bodies and lovely udders with great fore udders.  We also had wonderful daughters and sons from Andrew's sire, Magic - who, by the way also sired our GCH Saada Lemon Dimple-Doe (Xanado's dam and Saada Magic Kandelairo (sire to Jamilla's dam).

We have been waiting several years for the right doe to A.I. to Andrew and in Pekah we  think we have the perfect match.  We are looking foreward to seeing the results.  Pictured here is Andrew's littermate sister.  His dam can be viewed by clicking on the "Read More" icon and below his is one of his daughters (note: she had a frozen ear tip). Chactaw is another animal that was essential to the development of Saada.  We have owned several daughters (three of them GCH does) and one son, all bred by Desert Caper.  Each was an amazing animal - tall and long, the does, heavy milking and so tight and smooth.

This year, with an A.I. breeding to Adora Belle, we have added another son and  daughter.

He has been in ADGA's top 90% for sires for many years, for his consistently wonderful offspring. His dam was a fine milking doe with one lactation over 3,000 lbs of milk with 4.7% butterfat.

We used those animals on our Albedo and Magic Savoy lines to shape the style of Nubian we love best.  Pictured here is GCH Desert Caper Cactaw Christa and (is you click on the photo or "Read More" you can see three other of the Desert Caper-bred Chactaw daughters, we have had.

Zooey is long and tall and stylish, sports a very nice udder, that has gotten even better as a fifth freshener.  Her breed character is lovely and her dairiness evident in her luscious skin and flat bone.  She is also proving to be a phenomenal brood doe, with two young daughters (  a yearling milker, with a jr. leg and a finished GCH two-year-old) in the herd. Both are outstanding.

In April of 2013 she INBA named her as All American for 2012 and again for 2015. At her first show in 2015 was once first, GCH, BOB  and Best in Show,  and once second to a herdmate. At her next show she finished her GCH. She was EX90 at her LA session. This year, 2016 she was shown twice in Champion Challenge at Montana State Fair, where her daughter, Adora Belle, beat her and went on to be BDIS, under the first judge.  In the next ring Zooey was named Best of Breed.

We have selected Patrick to sire her 2017 kids.

We were sooooo happy to have this A.I. breeding take and then to get such a stunning buck!   MacCleary was everything we were hoping for when we made the breeding - tall-fronted, very sharp and smoothly blended, and his feet and legw correct. He also exhibits lovely breed character and wonderful skin and bone, and moves with such grace and majesty.

His sire, Andrew (littermate sister may be seen by clicking on photo, as well as an "at home" 2012 picture of MacCleary) was a wonderful "udder" buck that blessed us with several daughters, bred by the Rocking-Thistle herd.  MacCleary's dam, Pekah (pictured here) is one of our favorite does, who we had long wanted to have something from to keep.

Revelation is long, tall and well grown. He has good bone and dairy skin. She is pictured here. "Click" on her photo to also see her rear udder.

Revelation has two maternal, half sisters who are EX-92, SGCH does, as well as a young CH paternal sister and another who has LAed as EX.  We were so impressed with his offspring, and have two gorgeous daughters - one from Zimri and one from  Pinot Noir.  His first udders look good and bodies have been improved over dams. We suspect Revelation could have a long career with us.

Kwanza is a lovely third freshener and we were so pleased to have her join Saada in 2012.  She LAed in 2012 as a first freshener with the outstanding Score of V89-EVEE and though she has not been shown as a milker, she did win a short leg as a dry yearling.  She has a powerful, correct general appearance and a lovely udder. Her beautiful dam, Koruna, was 2012 National Show 5 & 6 Year Old 1st/1st for us in 2012. Kwanza's sire was sired by Saada M'Lord Tree Beard (Gandolph X Vampress)

Kwanza freshened, last year, with an amazing udder and lots of milk (over 13 lbs).  A month after freshening she developed mastitis in one half.  We were not able to show her last year because of it. This year her udder feels normal, but is still very uneven, so again not shows for Kwanza (sigh!).

The photo here is an unclipped one with 8 hours of milk, previous to her mastitis . Click on photo to see "milktime" rear udder photos, taken last year.

For 2015 she will be bred to Xotta Xan .

We lost "X's" dam, Xanado, (pictured here) last year. She had been one of the strongest uddered does we have ever bred. She had been 1st, 3rd and 5th place and twice won 1st Udder in National Show classes.  We have two half sisters and are both beautiful does with lovely udders. So, when our friend Gene Beck of the Highland herd in Kansas, agreed to allow us to use him, we were grateful and so thrilled.

X is a long tall buck, with good feet and legs, a strong back and nice breed type (a casual photo may be seen by "clicking" on "read more" icon or dam's photo).  His sister Xena earned E90 as a two year old and has one milking leg. First freshening sister, Grace (a two year old) has been under four judges as a milker, placing three times first, twice GCH and once BDIS.  We have had great reports on X's daughters in other herds both in general appearance and udders and can't wait to add some here.

She was shown only twice  as a kid, and was Res. CH and GCH.   At her four showngs in 2015 she was 4×1st. Now in 2016 she was Grand Ch;ampion under her first two judges, finishing her permanent Championship!!! (Click on photo for a rear view of Belle). She went on to be GCH at her other two showings at the Montana State Fair, once being named Best In Show. Pretty good for two-yr-old!

He is long and tall, with nice spring of rib and depth of heart.  We like his smooth way of moving and beautiful head and neck.  His dam is so correct in both General Appearance and Udder that we wouldn't change a thing.  We'd been looking for the right Baron son and when we saw Tagwa, knew immediately we'd found a great one.

His first offspring did not disappoint. They were strong topped, with lovely heads and legs.  We wish we could have kept more, but did manage to save back one very lovely daughter.
